Founded in 1993, Muumimaailma Oy is a tourism company based on the Moomin stories created by Tove Jansson. The turnover of the theme park is concentrated on the three summer months, when customers from Finland and abroad arrive for a day to enjoy activities and familiar characters at the theme park.
“Because the tourist season is really short, a lot is required of the IT systems. All systems must support our operations without interruption or disruptions. For example, ticket sales, the checkouts and the day-to-day management of employees have strict requirements for reliability,” says Jarkko Kuitunen, administrative director of Muumimaailma Oy.
Information security for modern cloud services
Moominworld has transitioned to the use of a public cloud service. For this reason, the company has wanted to go the extra mile investing in its information security and the availability and backup of data. The Enter Turva security service package allows for minimising threats to information security, while the Enter Varma backup service provides backup and availability of the company’s information in all situations.
“As we have migrated to a public cloud service, we must be able to secure our operations increasingly better against security threats, human errors, and the destruction of business data. In general as well, the information security requirements have become tougher for all organisations in the modern environment. We do not have the capacity to study the changes in Microsoft 365 information security. Digitalisation supports experiences
At Muumimaailma, the theme park has been developed much over the years. Today, customers are also offered personalised, magic digital experiences based on the bracelet code.
“Digitalisation adds value for our customers but it must not interfere with the visitor’s experience. Especially during the summer time, the short but very intense season of our theme park, all systems must work as planned. This is why development work is done in winter, so that all the functions are in order when the park opens in early June. Our annual calendar should still be brought forward even more, so that we do not have to make changes on too tight a schedule. Fortunately, Enter has provided help in all situations, including in the midst of a hurry,” Kuitunen praises.
